Astrological Earthquake – Mars’ Transit Opposing the Full Moon as a Possible Trigger

Earthquake Planetary Line Up

When Mars moves to oppose the Gemini full Moon over the next three days, it may trigger an earthquake.  This is only one of the factors setting up for a potential quake.  The Saturn Uranus contraparallel, the position of the moon at the time of its fullness, and a few other things that would only interest a hard core astrologer, may all play a role.  But the transit of Mars over the sensitive point, may set off a major earthquake.  In the past similar planetary line ups have resulted in a quake.  Because the Gemini full Moon was the closest to the earth that it has been in 15 years, it may mean a stronger quake.  There have already been three quakes today at greater than 5. on the Richter scale according to the U.S. Geological Survey, but none of them did much damage.  Hopefully it will stop with that, but several others besides myself recognize the possibility of a major quake.  As an astrologer it is all part of years of planetary research.

Earthquakes in the Land Mean Earthquakes in Our Lives

This same planetary line up may also mean we are about to experience a major shift in our lives and our world.  Our individual worlds are changing as many are losing jobs and homes, and families are having to restrict their spending.  Relationships that may lead to marriage may be put on hold, as well as starting a family, due to the financial uncertainties.  The world may be giving birth to a different kind of value system. Our economy is in serious fluctuation and we could soon see another new direction.  Uranus in Pisces is leading us to a new direction and away from the old rules and structures and potentially into a more fluid, creative and inspired time,  but there is a caution not to be taken in with illusions like the financial fraud seen on Wall Street, and other sorts of cons and delusions that may present themselves.

Venus Moves Over Last Summer’s Solar Eclipse – Relationship Wipe Out or A Chance to Heal?

Venus Reactivates Last Summer’s Solar Eclipse So Watch Out for Relationship Changes

With Venus at 6 degrees of Aquarius, it is moving to the opposition of the solar eclipse point from last summer.  Many may find that major shifts take place in their significant relationships, and whatever houses are ruled from Venus in their chart.  This will happen over the next couple of days, since last August’s Solar Eclipse was at 9 degrees of Leo.   That eclipse was actually triggered May 26, when Mars transited the eclipse point a couple of months before the actual eclipse happened. If you want to see what its going to do in your life now, look back to that time and recall what happened.  This is always the case in astrology.  We can watch a situation develop over a period of time by watching the planetary movements that influence it.

Venus Begins the Action of the January 26, 2009 Solar Eclipse

Venus may actually trigger the action of the coming solar eclipse on January 26, 2009, which will be at 6 degrees of Aquarius, right where Venus is today.  So if you are aware of where this falls in your chart, observe the reaction you have and notice what relationships seem to be up for review.  This will give you an idea of where its going to impact your life and you should notice the impact starting today.  It may, since Venus is a benific, bring you closer to someone.  Depending on what planet it aspects in your chart, it could also bring a difficult relationship experience, or a decision to rethink or reassess a major relationship.  For instance, if it aspects Saturn in your chart, it may challenge a relationship.  Since transiting Jupiter is also parallel transiting Venus, it may bring a major healing or some exceptional good fortune that may go to the next level of development on the date of the actual eclipse.

The Gemini Full Moon Delivers the Coup de Grace to the Uranus Saturn Opposition

The Gemini Full Moon

This is the Full Moon in December and it was known to the Native Americans as the Full Long Night’s Moon and to the Celts as the Elder Moon.  Today’s Long Night’s  Moon, so close to the winter solstice, may deliver the coup de grâce in the major shift that is playing out in the world. It will deliver another fatal blow to the Uranus/Saturn opposition that was exact on November 4 and has laid the groundwork to reshape the world as we’ve known it.

Mercury Joins Pluto in Capricorn

Mercury joins Pluto as it moves into 0 degrees of Capricorn, adds extra punch and makes a potent planetary line up, and Pluto is about pure power.  This degree is much more potent since it is the very beginning of the sign, so the transformation can be quite explosive.  It settles down as the planet goes further into the sign.

Earthquakes are Possible along with Major World Events, and Events in Lives

This line up creates a great potential for earthquakes in the world, in current events, in our own lives and the lives of those around us. With the Full Moon making a difficult aspect to Saturn and Uranus as they oppose each other, (and while they are no longer in an exact opposition, they are still contraparallel, which is simular to an opposition) and Mercury joining Pluto at 0 degree, and the Moon’s position, the likelihood of a major earthquake somewhere in the world is very strong.

We will see it reflected in world events and in our lives, as well.  Whatever aspect of the past is moving out of our lives, it will get another crowning blow and ties may be broken as we leave old situations behind and strike out for a fresher, newer world. The Uranian aspect of this represents revolution pitted against the structure of Saturn in Virgo.

Barack Obama’s Presidency Represents the Saturn Uranus Opposition in the Presidential Election

Barack Obama was the first man of mixed race elected to the presidency on the day that Saturn and Uranus were in exact opposition. This really is the start of a new world, and the economic difficulties are not merely a recession or depression from which the country will recover, it is the beginning of a new society with new values and a new approach to finances. Before this is over, and it will take years to play out, we may find our currency has an entirely different basis.

A Quantum Leap into the Future

Whether we leave behind relationships that have lost their meaning for us, jobs that are empty traps, or outworn approaches that no longer bring us any fulfillment, this aspect will take us, individually and collectively, to the next level in an unfolding karma.

How the Eclipse and Neptune Will Influence the VP Candidates Debate

Sarah Palin’s Debate Debut: Neptune’s Film Star Glamour Factor or Oh, Those Sexy Librarian Glasses

I watched the news last night and after seeing all the promos on television about the debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin. I have seldom seen this much anticipation for a television event and never for anything that involved politics.
With Neptune on her Sun, Mars, and Saturn and Biden’s South Node, it brings the film star glamour to the debates. For sheer coverage, they rival the Super bowl promos and I fully expect to see ads running with hot wing recipe suggestions for the big event. I won’t be surprised if there are even some multi-million-dollar quickly made ads to run during the commercials and I’m sure Saturday Night Live’s Tina Fey is already sharpening her impression. I’m guessing the debate will make a few more comedians famous this weekend. The comedy material will no doubt buy several new homes with the revenue from jokes, which given the current economic climate, will definitely make them part of the wealthy class.

How the Eclipse and Neptune helped Sarah Palin Find Fame and Fortune

I admit I am usually a democrat but this year if the Republican candidate was stronger I would have considered it. Thankfully, for reasons of simplicity, the republican’s candidates are not serious considerations for me due to their positions, so it won’t be a problem. It’s not that I don’t like Obama, and I absolutely love Michelle, but I think Obama is a little green (inexperienced), or I did until Sarah Palin entered the race. It gives me a new appreciation of just how relative perspective can be.

With democratic Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden’s reputation for being an experienced and savvy debater it puts VP republican candidate Sarah Palin’s at an obvious disadvantage. Since she was thrown in the ring at the last minute by McCain, seemingly on a whim, it is working against her both in my opinion and in the polls. This could be a bloodbath that calls to mind Rome’s past entertainment practice of throwing the Christians to the lions, except that both parties are Christian and for that matter, both lions.

Palin may look even more like a deer (or moose) in the headlights than she has in the Katy Couric interviews, if that’s possible. The question of how could she have gotten herself into all this, especially with all the problems she’s having back in Alaska, comes when we take a look at what the last eclipse and Neptune are doing in her chart.

There is a reason ancient wisdom was terrified of eclipses, and her life may be one of the best examples we’ve had for a while. I am not saying I feel sorry for her, but even I can identify to the level of overnight expectations that she blasted into when McCain threw her into the fray.

Neptune Joins Palin’s Sun, Mars, and Saturn

The problem with Neptune is that you can’t tell what is illusion and what is reality and the eclipse happened almost exactly on Sarah Palin’s Sun in her seventh house. Even a die-hard democrat like me can see that there are forces are at work in her life that have propelled her into this situation.

Palin’s Birth Chart and Her Odds During the Debate

Sarah Palin’s birthday is reported to be February 11, 1964, at 4:40 p.m. in Sandhill, Idaho. The time supposedly came directly from her. Her Aquarian sun, Mars, and Saturn close together make her a formidable and aggressive opponent, but with Neptune on them, an effective attack is unlikely, although charm may come more easily, since Neptune will tend to confuse the issue. When she debates Biden, she will have her hands full keeping things straight. She has been toughened up by the interviews with Katy Couric, but even so, she was thrown into the whirlwind very fast and has not yet appeared to get her bearings.

The Advantage to Palin from the Retrograde Mercury

Retrograde Mercury may work for her as it is making an excellent aspect to her Sun. Her style is to be comfortable and folksy and take a conservative position and here it may all come back on her and she may just look hopelessly lost, and to fight that, she may turn to a personal attack strategy. She may use her down home charm to talk to her voters and bring her basic conservative value system to those who share it. Like most Aquarians, she marches to her own drummer and can’t figure out why everyone thinks she’s odd. She can be dogmatic and at the same time, inconsistent in her dogma. Since her planets sit on Biden’s South Node, she may hit below the belt in her attacks and use her feminine charm to position herself so he will appear vicious if he attacks her. But her odds of hitting him where it hurts are pretty high, especially considering her weak position.

Her sun is receiving the rays of Neptune, a whimsical planet that can make you feel like the most wonderful fortune has come to you and almost immediately show you how fast that can turn to nothing in your hands. When the eclipse changed her life, it threw her into the public eye and a foreign relations venue, ready or not. It also is bringing her scandals and confusion and at the same time, making her a subject of fascination and alternately ridicule in the eyes of the public. If she isn’t careful, it can involve her in Washington deceptions and bring on depression and a sense of unreality where she may find herself daydreaming and having trouble focusing. But it also accounts for her movie star mannerisms and film star popularity.

Joe Biden – Tonight’s Moon Position Gives Him the Advantage in the Debates

Joe Biden’s birthday is Nov 20, 1942, at 8:30 a.m. in Scranton, PA. Since the Moon is in Biden’s sun sign of Scorpio, he will have the advantage in the debate tonight. He appears to be all charm and an easy talker, but with the Sun, Venus, and Mercury in Scorpio in the 12th house, below the charm, is a shrewd person who is more astute and far more hidden than he appears. He may very well suffer from his association with Sarah Palin. With her aggressive planets on his South Node, he may find himself in a difficult situation. The South Node is considered in Western astrology, an unfortunate area in everyone’s chart, and a point of loss. The Hindu astrologers consider it the point of true spiritual evolution, so it may advance him in more subtle ways. Biden, with three planets in Scorpio in the 12th house is deadly serious but appears pleasant and laid back. He is an excellent researcher and keeps a lot of private information that others give him. If I have the correct time for them both, he will dominate her naturally, effortlessly. But she may cause him serious problems and major headaches. His debate style is a take-it-to-the-wall approach. Hers will be more charming and she will make a more personal appeal, as her Mercury is with her Moon in early Aquarius and makes an excellent aspect to her Venus in Aries. Marilyn Monroe also had Venus in Aries and both women can turn up the heat on their sex appeal if they want to.

Mercury Retrograde and it’s Influence on What the Pundits are Saying

The pundits are saying that Biden has to use great care not to appear aggressive with Palin and not to appear to attack. She on the other hand, supposedly will sound great if she says anything intelligent at all, since she’s had difficulty getting her bearings and sounding confidant in her interviews. With the current Mercury retrograde there will probably be confusion and disagreement on who wins the debate. Since its in Libra there will probably be a lot of discussion about what is fair and each candidate may try to appear well behaved. Later there will probably be great disagreement about how the debate went or who gained and lost ground. The first George W. Bush election took place during a Mercury retrograde. We are still paying for it and still trying to sort out the confusion. Many people in the country still believe the election was stolen and there may be again a lot of confusion and passionate disagreement about what really was accomplished.

Aquarius (Encyclopædia Britannica)

Whenever I experience that old impulsive feeling to suddenly change everything, I know Uranus is at it again working it’s magic in my life. It is when I feel more alive then I’ve felt before and more determined to express the creativity in my life that I’ve been putting off. Since I have a prominent Uranus influence in my chart, expressing my individuality is always important to me.

Uranus, the ruler of the sign Aquarius, known as the planet of surprises, goes retrograde and important projects or relationships we have started recently may be readjusted and reconsidered until Uranus goes direct again in November, when plans will most likely go forward toward their final destiny.

Uranus represents our deepest need to free ourselves from all the rules that society and our families require of us so that we can fulfill our soul level need to evolve and expand. If we have a yen to be artistic or musical or experience a time as a free spirit without responsibility, Uranus is at work. When a Uranus aspect is prominent in our life or making an important relationship to our planets, our greatest need is to take a stand and define ourself as an individual, no matter what the cost.

With Uranus going retrograde on the 27th in the sign of Pisces, it will prepare to make its way toward the important opposition to the planet of structure, stability, and time, Saturn. This may challenge us to take another look at the structures and patterns in our life. At times we may feel like our life is being torn apart, but its purpose is to force us to remove the deadwood from our lives and demand that we deepen our commitment to be a unique reflection of who we are and what we came into this life to accomplish. It is a perfect example of the famous quote by Socrates ” the unexamined life is not worth living.” Uranus shakes us out of our complacency and forces us to be true to our unique self.

We should be prepared for big shakeups in our life, depending on where the aspect effects us. Life as we’ve known it will probably change, possibly dramatically, and we need to recognize that it will free us up to evolve individually and globally.

Sudden impulses may carry us away, especially if we have unfinished business or relationships from the past that return to demand resolution or, if they represented a truth about ourself that we ignored, they may break us free of false values and the structures in our life that they support, like marrying the wrong person to please the family or getting into the wrong career for status rather than fulfillment.

The Russian Revolution took place when Uranus was in Aquarius, it’s strongest position. Sweden is a country ruled by Aquarius, and it is an excellent example of the visionary, progressive, humanitarian, and detached attitudes we associate with Uranus.

Mercury in Gemini Retrograde and Uranus

“Le Printemps” (Spring) by Pierre August Cot 1837 – 1883, shows the gentle and fun loving Gemini nature.

On May 26, Mercury is in Gemini, one of it’s strongest signs, began a retrograde motion that will last until the evening of June 19. What that means in a practical way is that this is not a good time to start new projects and that you should save detail work until after June 20, if you can comfortably do it later. This retrograde is more complex due to the difficult aspect from Uranus, the unpredictable planet of surprises. Use extra care with any sort of movement, driving, walking, talking, and also writing. Be sure you don’t hit the button to send your email to a group instead of the intended party. Don’t daydream even if you are tempted. The difficult aspect will make this far more confusing and it may bring unexpected events into your life. The secret to a retrograde Mercury is to go back to projects that didn’t work the first time and try them one more time. Also if you started a project in a retrograde Mercury, it may finally straighten out if there have been regular hassles.

You may also find that letters or messages that someone either sent that got lost, or never got sent, may finally get through. Since Mercury is so strong, there may be travel in the works. Someone could show up unannounced, or someone who wanted to talk to you about something may finally get around to it. Loved ones or someone interested who worked or had a relationship with you in the past may reappear and want to revisit that situation.
